Webmasters make multiple SEO mistakes while trying to rank their sites at the top of search engine results. In these lean 'organic' times, one search optimization mistake can send your site straight to hell. It's really crucial to keep a close watch on what Google's engineers are up to and what new updates are in the pipeline. Last few search and Panda updates by Google have made it clear to all that therer's no shortcut to SEO.

Getting caught in SEO trends is a big mistake. Here's what Google says about this issue on their official blog.

We talk about emerging SEO trends. We talk about the changing face of SEO. We talk about how SEO is evolving. Though it's wise to keep yourself abreast of the upcoming changes or recent updates, it's a huge mistake to start looking for that 'magic trick' that'll rank our site at the top overnight.

Webmasters should never ignore the fundamentals of SEO. Though search optimization is taking on a new shape, the basics are still the same. You need superior quality content. You need to build a natural backlinks profile. You need to avoid paid link building techniques. Finally, you need to build authority and trust. In my earlier post, I talked about 'trust' being the most important ranking factor and how you can build it for your site.

Avoid getting caught up in trends. Instead focus on these :

#1. Stand Out
Think about what you can do to set your site apart from the competition. Whether it's the design, the content, the site architecture or internal links, you should do something to establish your uniqueness in a specific niche. In any case, you shouldnrsquo;t forget to abide by the best practices and guidelines.

#2. Be Helpful to Searchers
This is the most important issue for Google. If you want to obtain higher rankings in search engines, you must always focus on helping the user or the searcher. Unless your site makes the searcherrsquo;s experience richer, you won't be able to build authority in search engines like Google.

#3. Build Natural Links
Paid link networks are now Google's major target. Don't make the mistake of using one link network to build plenty of backlinks in short span. Today's SEO is about natural linking. For attracting natural links, you also need to connect with more and more professionals in your industry. At the same time, you need to diversify the link building sources as much as possible.

#4. Get Social
Social media and SEO are now intertwined. Earlier, SEO was only about algorithms. Today, it's a lot more beyond that. The improved Googlebot is smart enough to understand people and relationships. That's why social signals have got a more important role to play in search optimization than ever.

#5. Create an Ideal Mobile Experience
Mobile marketing is continuously on the rise. If your target audience spends more time on the go, you also need to pay careful attention to creating an enriching mobile experience for them. While building a mobile version of your site, you should plan the content structure appropriately. Don't forget to get feedback from your customers to refine your approach even more.

What's your SEO strategy? Let's talk back in comments.

Everyone knows that performing SEO daily on your blog or website cost you too much time for just getting your page rank and backlinks be maintained. All we need to do is to set up a time management for ourselves. Why? Here are some of the reasons why we need time management:

1. To control yourself on using the computer. Too much use of the computer will gonna affect your eyes that might give you migraine or any disease.

2. To give yourself an exact free time to your family, friends, etc.

3. To be aware of your monthly bills, especially electricity, which you need to budget it for yourself.

If we're just spending our time sitting at the computer doing SEO, it might have a chance to forget our household obligations, examinations or to have bonding with friends. Time management is usually designed for control and maintenance of yourself, especially when doing SEO for your blog or website.

If you're lacking of time management, it means your time is not flexible and it may cause you to suffer anything you experience like damaging your eyesight, headaches and other ailments that makes you unhealthy. If that's the case, try to buy medicines and food supplements in order to maintain your health status good while working, but still you need time management.

Here are some of possible timeframe which you need to do, especially SEO.

For mornings: Blog posting (once daily, 5 to 10 mins.), do-follow forum participation on two forums (about 10 to 20 posts for 1 hour), blog commenting (about 5-10 blogs for 1 hour or less)

For afternoons: Do-follow forum participation on two to three forums (about 10-20 posts for 2 hours), article writing and submission to at least 20 article directories like Ezine (for about 1 hour)

Do not work on evenings unless it's urgent and always take a break for at least one hour on mornings and afternoons. But you can still check and monitor your site's performance daily.

I hope this will help you a lot in managing your time, especially in SEO.
