I today checked one of my client website in Google Webmaster Tools and saw that there is a huge increase in the backlinks . Is this a fault in Google Webmaster Tool tracking ? . Many of my friends too experienced the same. I think the reason might be that Google has started counting all links which are not previously considered to be a priority. I have checked the same with SEO Round Table and came to the following post http://www.seroundtable.com/archives/022454.html

I think this might not be a techincal error as I have already heard that Google will start to give no follow links also linkjuice but the priority to this links would be very less considered to do follow links. We would all have to wait until we hear what the Google Webmaster Team has to speak.

This will inturn be a big change and this might be just shift in link importance and authority. Google might want the webmasters to be aware of all the pages which link to their website. This seems to have lot of positive impact like we can analyze which linkfarms/content spams are linked to our website and we might also get an additional feature to report spam websites which link to our website.

I am not doing a strong research now but I will wait till I hear something from other SEO Experts.

What is Anchor Text?

Anchor text is your basic href link with text in it. for example:
Seo Tips And Tricks

Now your link text will come up as “Seo Tips And Tricks” .

Now when you link to a lot of pages, this will bring up your ranking but you must look into the quality of the pages you are linking to. So you want to have text links from your pages that go to pages already high in the Google ranking system. Stay away from link farms and spammy sites. Doing this will get you ranked higher.

Now this is a pretty long process, you should find some other ways to do this. You objective is to Build Page Rank higher. Here are some other ways to do so.

Blogging – If you are a blogger this is a good way. Link up with other Bloggers, do guest posts on other related blogs using Anchor Text and links in your articles.

Page content – So what is in your pages, how unique is your content? Do not use duplicate content for Google does not like this, do not steal other sites content either. Make your page interesting, to the mind and to the eye. If you site is unique other sites will come to you more often.

Social Networks – There has been a huge debate on this but Social Networking is great for a website. Build a page for your website, give information, add friends and reach out to people. Interact with others, don’t just spam or people will disown your site. Post links around in comments urging others to come to your site. Post when you have new content, try to get users active in discussion.

These are just a few ways that you can increase your ranking with. Focus on your content, make your content interesting that will keep readers around waiting for more. Get your readers into the discussion. Have a site that people want to link to, and you will achieve getting a higher ranking.

As you can see on most webmaster forums, there are plenty of clients who are looking for service providers that will provide good quality backlinks to their websites. But most of them are expecting do-follow sites rather than no-follow sites at all. Why do they need do-follow rather than no-follow sites?

Right now I'm building my backlinks to any forums and blogs I want. I really don't care if they are do-follow or no-follow, but the important thing in my mind is just to increase the number of customers and visitors in my website, rather than spending more time to rank my blog into the top of the mountain. Traffic will have potentials to earn you money than ranking yourself high...useful but hard and more on time-consumption.

The effect of your backlinks depends on your performance to do it. Patience is a virtue for all of the webmasters and bloggers there, and it needs to be done quietly.

SEO jobs are totally boring and time-consuming, but the important for you is to gain more backlinks over and over again until you're truly satisfied to market your own website or blog for this. Content and design also effects the image of your website and it depends if people there would like to contribute to your blog or website by leaving comments, subscriptions, etc. Just keep on building backlinks and never stop.
