Low competition keywords vs. high competition keywords

19 Oct 2009 10:44 pm

Keywords are naturally developed throughout the years, and it's still growing. We may see how the keywords we used are effective right now only depends on how competitive they are. Keywords are different from keyphrases which are used mostly by article writers.

There are three types of keywords or keyphrases, and these are:

1. High competitive keywords - these are keywords or keyphrases that are mostly used by webmasters or bloggers right now to post content in their blog or website. These keywords usually competed with each other on the top of search engine ranking pages (SERPS).

2. Average competitive keywords - these are keywords or keyphrases that are neutrally used by webmasters or bloggers right now to post content in their blog or website. These keywords usually also competes with the high ranking ones until they found themselves on the top of search engine ranking pages (SERPS).

3. Low competitive keywords - these are keywords or keyphrases that are only occassionally or seldom used by the webmasters or bloggers to post content in their blog or website. these keywords are naturally recommended to all fresh webmasters and bloggers who want to kick start their own website.

If we compare the low ones and the high ones, we might say that the low ones give you a chance to use that keyword for your website or blog and boost it to the top of search engine ranking pages. Low competitive keywords are truly recommended for fresh webmasters and bloggers because they have a chance to make it highly competitive and their website could be on the top of search engine results.

If you are using highly competitive keywords, you may only have a slight chance to be included into the top of search engine ranking pages (SERPS). Meaning more and more people are using the keyword and competed with each other to the top. Your site may be way down below the search results, could end up on the last page of the search results.

Better stick to low competitive keywords than the higher ones.l

Emily Yao Peter is right InXtinct Buddy, we must use low competing ones rather than the higher ones. Think about it. There are many competitors already who are competing their own blog or website with such high competing keywords and struggling to be on the top of SERPS. If you're in the low ones, you have a better chance to get up easily in the SERPS, only depends on your motivation.

Dylan Haddock Yeah, the high competition keywords can be very pricey, must really know what you are doing to play that game.
