I was practically spending my time doing link building for my own blog, and so far I have a total of 125 Google index links and it is now at PR3. Although it's do-follow, but I have not yet reached my goal. I thought that when my blog is at do-follow status, it means that is more advantageous than any other blogs.

When I read about other SEO eBooks I've downloaded from membership programs, most of them said that when we do link building, it may take me months in order to reach the number of backlinks to our website or blog. So that means we need a lot of hardwork for our own website or blog.

An average guy who works for the website or blog is around 8 to 10 hours. Why? Your website or blog needs:

1. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

2. Search Engine Marketing

3. Traffic

4. Affiliate and PPC ads

These things are not easy for me everyday, because as I have said earlier. Hardwork is an option, and you need it for your own website or blog. Link building may also give you a chance of success to earn money in your own affiliate programs you advertised like Clickbank, Amazon, PepperJam, Azoogle, CJ, NetPartner, Adbrite, etc.

There are many ways to build your links like:

1. Forum participation

2. Do-follow blog commenting

3. Social bookmarks

4. Social networks

5. Classified ads

6. Social media

7. Link wheel on Web 2.0 sites

8. Article directory submissions

9. Press release directory submissions

10. Link selling/exchange

AND LOTS OF OTHERS!

If you do these daily, it will take you months to reach that goal no matter how hard you try, but worth of your time in blogging and managing it in your own terms. If you do that in an easy way, it will cause you trouble and you will be suspected as a "BlackHat" SEO type person and you will be banned by Google.

Patience is a virtue, as we are going to be successful not on the next day, but on the few months to come because this is normal as an online marketer and a link builder.

Claire Walker It's so hard for me as I'm not yet good on building links on my website. But at least these ideas of yours are truly helpful but challenging, and I could use them for myself. Thank you so much Alan. Wonderful post.

Raffy Tero Hardwork is much rewarded than "soft" and "idiot" work. All of the making money schemes now needs hardwork. There's no such thing that you will be successful if you are going easy at it.

Daniel Lew Nice post, gaining 1 way links is the key, 3 way link exchanges are secondary, the future is partnership exchanges in creative ways.
