Have you ever been familiar about a term called social networking? This is one special online community that you can make friends everywhere, and you can pimp your own profile, create your own blog, uploading photos and videos and at the same time, chatting with each other with their own chat portal.

Around 90% of the social network people right now are using this for fun and making friends only, while the remaining 10% are using this for business purposes. We really don't know the secret of every affiliate marketer that has been using social network programs right now. Some of the popular social networking sites right now are Friendster, Facebook, MySpace, PerfSpot, Tagged, Ning, PeopleString, Yuwie, Apsense, FriendFinder and many more.

If we could ask them why the remaining 10% of the people are joining social networks for business purposes? It is the reason that they want to earn money by just sharing their products and services to their friends and to other tiers which your friends have. Some affiliate marketers are very successful in this unique SEO strategy, and here are the reasons why:

1. If you have more friends, let's say 300? 500? or 1,000? or more than that? They will be your ultimate prospects. If you have some product that you can promote which you can say it's targeted for them, then try to share it with them, and if they don't like it, you must include a message that when they don't like, pass it on their other friends, and so on. This is one way that affiliate marketers using social networks to expand the products and services they promote to their friends.

2. Try to make your profile look unique and professional. You just have to display your own products and services by creating your own link or you can create your own banner and paste the HTML code within your profile. The background of your profile must be related to your niche and to your promoted products and services, as it catches attention to your friends or anyone who is viewing your profile.

3. Create your own video about your products and services using the Windows Movie Maker. You must buy yourself a video camera (webcam is not recommended) with a stand which the video should be clear and it can be compatible viewing during nighttime. Upload it on Youtube and if approved, copy the HTML code and paste it on your profile. Make your video look professional and the way you're sending message to your viewers, and this will make them attracted.

So now we know how 10% of the social networking users are using this for business and for online marketing purposes, which is to gain more customers. If they will inquire and have some interests on your product, always entertain them by checking your own e-mail for some updates. This is where I am interested too, and I want to market my own products and services on these social networks, because there were over millions of people joining this special online community.

Daniel Lew I don't really agree with some of the websites you mentioned for business purposes. If you want to be taken seriously then I recommend social network sites such as linkedin, xing, facebook groups and twitter. These are more focused towards business.

Dylan Haddock I'm on linked in, but I have to go back and update my account. It would be good if there could be a tool to integrate all the networks into one account. Is there such a thing?
