All 5 clients want to rank 1st page of google for the same key phrase
How far can you really go? I’m sure any SEO company or SEO Consultant can relate to this, in fact I suspect this is a fear that many SEO companies will not admit or discuss openly about.
But let’s be realistic here, if you have a client that wants to be on the 1st page of google for the keyphrase ” Bangkok Property “, and than the next 4 clients or so that you are also doing SEO work for are also bidding for this term, your SEO task becomes more challenging. (I have been reasonable fortunate with clients of mine that are in slightly different areas of expertise in particular Hua Hin Real Estate ).
Respectively you have 10 spots in google for the same keyphrase before you will end up on the 2nd page. So this leaves you room with 5 clients and 5 spots to move around slightly on the 1st page give and take and due to google’s daily algorithms.
5 Most Common Refusal Work and Ways around this:
- Clients Bidding for Same Key phrases - (Don’t lock yourself, suggest that they can be on the the 1st page but becuase your previous clients have bided for the same phrases, they may as a result appear on the 2nd page from time to time.)
- Duplicated Websites - Many SEO companies refuse SEO work if the client wants to market all of their sites that are totally the same (Ways around that are setting up a parked domain to the site they wish to duplicate)
- Static Vs Dynamic Websites - Some SEO’s prefer to work on Static Sites, as other SEO’s prefer to work on Dynamic, depending which one you are used to, working on any different can be a daunting task, as meta keywords and description and page text etc. to adjust are set differently.
(A) Static (Good old find and replace works wonders) ,
(B) Dynamic (Editing the database file keywords after exporting tables can also be a quick resolution)
- Search Engine Friendly Url’s - If your client has old indexed pages such as www.mywebsite.com/mywebpage?=123 and now requires SEO friendly Url’s but does not want his old indexed files to be deleted. (You could make those old pages still indexed but look and feel slightly different.)
- Website Designed in Flash - If the website was purely designed in flash (swf) and are no hard coded html files or similar of that matter uploaded their could be an issue of re-designing the site from scratch to base itself around being SEO friendly.
So the big question is to all SEO companies out there, will you refuse SEO work if this becomes the case? Or will you work around the common issues and tasks to better take care of your clients needs!

If you want your online business to succeed then you need more traffic, more people coming to your website. You can get that either by paying for it through advertising or you can get it all
free through SEO.
Now, SEO might not be exactly free if you do not know how to do it. You will have to
pay some professional to do the job for you. While the professional will usually know his job and even do it well for you, he or she might cost you a lot.
Most often, SEO companies of trained or experienced professionals charge huge amounts to do even the most basic SEO jobs. Even if only some pages of your website needs optimisation or even if it is about two or three key phrases, it might cost you almost a fortune.
No, if you are one of those big conglomerates, then you might probably not have such a big problem with your budget. A cost of 00 might not seem too much to you as long as you are getting a higher ranking.
However, if you in a small business or worse a home based business that you run by yourself, then this can be asking for too much. You might have to do without it altogether.
On the other hand, sometimes the larger companies would benefit a lot more if they simply allow some of their skilled employees to acquire some SEO skills and training. This will save a lot of their precious money. Outsourcing is not always a good idea.
The SEO personnel are not telling you this and that is that in fact, SEO is not so difficult after all. Besides that, if you already have a high position for most of your keywords and need it for a few other keywords, then you can easily do it by a little tweaking here and there on your website.
The internet is full of online guides, books, memberships as well as software that are much more affordable than hiring a SEO professional. You can easily learn the techniques of the trade and with a little practical experience; you will be on your feet and going.
If you know your way around computers and handle little bit of technical details then you can easily learn the different SEO techniques and use them as well to get good rankings.
When you do learn the techniques, make sure you have a good and clear plan ready for you to work. This is important if you want to succeed at this. The reason is that this is similar to any typical marketing campaign; you need to follow the steps of your plan if you want to see results.
Everything is available. All you need to do is reach out and do it for yourself.

search engine. It is a
marketing tool and it helps your website get a higher position on the search results so that more traffic is directed to your website.
Now there are primarily two main forms of SEO: on page and off page optimisation. We will see on page optimisation in more detail in this article.
The techniques for on page optimization involve tweaking your website content as well as your website structure. It is done so that your website can get a high ranking with search engines, mainly
Google,
Yahoo and
MSN.
The main features of this form of optimization are as follows.
Title tag: This indicates the website’s title and it is at the top of a browser window. Any search engine will use a title tag for making links in their search results.
Meta tag description: This mainly does basic describing of your website. This plays an extremely significant role in page ranking with search engines. Hence, it should always focus on your website.
Meta tag keywords: This one is similar to meta tag description and it highlights the significance of your website.

URL Structure: The address of your website should be similar to the content or the subject of your website.
The advantages of optimising on page
Any commercial website needs to make their products available and attractive to their potential customers. Similarly, there are many other advantages of exposing your product to a much wider audience.
Many websites tend to cater to a wider audience for enhancing their business. With on page optimization, you can get a higher rank on the search results, when they search for some specific keywords or phrases. This way you are able to get targeted traffic. In other words, only people who are interested in your product will come to your site.
Most often, people do not go beyond the first page of search results. The reason is the they often get what they want in the first page only. Therefore, it is important to be included in these top ranking sites if you want more traffic.

Search engines are growing more and more fond of link popularity. Link popularity is very close to
search engine optimisation and therefore, any company who wants to make their web presence felt needs to start building their strategy for link development.
Several online marketing experts have the opinion that link popularity means getting hold of the maximum number of links. Nevertheless, it not about how many links you have, rather it is much more about what kind of links you have. If you have back links from popular websites then you will be able to get higher rankings
In order to make your website popular, you can submit your website to the reputed directories for example, Yahoo, About.com, LookSmart as well as the Open Directory.
If some directory that already is in association with some search engine, reviews your website, then your chances of gaining higher ranking with a search engine increase. Credible content is the key to being accepted by any major directory. Things such as a tips section or page, a links page, even a how-to section or page, help to show that your product is credible.
In order to become popular with search engines as well as directories, you need more than simple links from many other sites. You also need people to click these links of yours and come and browse through your web site. Besides that, they also need to come again to your site.
In order for this to happen, you need to have quality content on your website and your web site should be user-friendly. It should not be so complicated that any visitor will get lost on their first visit, never to return again.
According to search engines as well as directories, this is what popularity means: not just having your links on different websites, but rather people coming to your website through those links and returning. This can be termed as click-through popularity.
Hence, a combination of click-through popularity along with link popularity is required for bagging a high position on the search engine results.
When you do gain a better position in the search results, do not fly too high because these positions are not permanent and if you do not take care about your status then you can lose that position easily.
You need to be listed in various directories, other popular web sites, specialised directories dealing with specific niches such as financial, health, travel, etc.
You can check the popularity of your link with AltaVista. Simply type link:domainname.com in the search field.
In Google, type link:www.domainname.com in the search field.
Link development can drive traffic to your website, get your website a higher ranking. Therefore, you should include it in your marketing plan.

It is worth cataloging the basic principles to be enforced to increase website traffic and search engine rankings.
Create a site with valuable content, products or services.
Place primary and secondary keywords within the first 25 words in your page content and spread them evenly throughout the document.
Research and use the right keywords/phrases to attract your target customers.
Use your keywords in the right fields and references within your web page. Like Title, META tags, Headers, etc.
Keep your site design simple so that your customers can navigate easily between web pages, find what they want and buy products and services.
Submit your web pages i.e. every web page and not just the home page, to the most popular search engines and directory services. Hire someone to do so, if required.Be sure this is a manual submission. Do not engage an automated submission service.
Keep track of changes in search engine algorithms and processes and accordingly modify your web pages so your search engine ranking remains high. Use online tools and utilities to keep track of how your website is doing.
Monitor your competitors and the top ranked websites to see what they are doing right in the way of design, navigation, content, keywords, etc.
Use reports and logs from your web hosting company to see where your traffic is coming from. Analyze your visitor location and their incoming sources whether search engines or links from other sites and the keywords they used to find you.
Make your customer visit easy and give them plenty of ways to remember you in the form of newsletters, free reports, reduction coupons etc.
Demonstrate your industry and product or service expertise by writing and submitting articles for your website or for article banks so you are perceived as an expert in your field.
When selling products online, use simple payment and shipment methods to make your customer’s experience fast and easy.
When not sure, hire professionals. Though it may seem costly, but it is a lot less expensive than spending your money on a website which no one visits.
Don’t look at your website as a static brochure. Treat it as a dynamic, ever-changing sales tool and location, just like your real store to which your customers with the same seriousness.
